Future Plans:
For years Brothers Keeper has had a vision to build transitional housing coupled with support services to help homeless families get back on their feet. Recently we have partnered with Interfaith Emergency Services to find a way to build this housing and to establish a day pavilion and safe haven for the chronically homeless. Keep this huge project in your prayers.
We are also exploring ways to combine some our services, such as emergency food distribution and holiday baskets with other agencies. With a “one-stop” location and case management maybe we can avoid duplication and get some families closer to self-sufficiency.
We are actively working with the Marion County United Way to find ways of community impact in the areas of jobs, affordable housing, and homeless prevention.
Community Involvement:
Brothers Keeper is an active member of our community. We are constantly looking for ways to solve the problems of the poor, homeless, and marginalized rather than just continuing to put “band-aids” on social problems.
